Dutyholders

As a dutyholder, you will have the responsibility for managing asbestos in the buildings within your organisation. Your primary concern will therefore be the Control of Asbestos Regulations and compliance with Regulation 4, the Duty to Manage.
In order to comply with this you will need to do the following;

  1. Implement an Asbestos Management Plan
  2. Control building work and contractors on site and pass on any asbestos information to them
  3. Obtain Management Survey information in order to compile an asbestos register
  4. Carryout asbestos awareness training for any of your employees doing maintenance or repairs
  5. Instruct more intrusive Refurbishment / Demolition Surveys prior to any work on the fabric of the building

At DAC we have the experience to design and implement an asbestos management plan tailored to you and your premises.

Controlling maintenance activities and building work, and so preventing exposure, is the most important element of the management plan, but unfortunately there is no single solution for doing this.

This is because every organisation plans its maintenance and building work differently, depending on supply chains, procurement rules, budgets and so on.

At DAC we have the experience to design and implement an asbestos management plan tailored to you and your premises.
